Heyhey:)

 

If you are reading this, then this means that www.notonprint.com is online. As of now it mostly is an unfinished project so I want to guide you a little through what we have so far: 

 

This right here is my diary. I upload here whenever I feel like it or when there are things happening, mostly about the website and the content, but maybe in my life as well, we’ll see about that…

This is part of the text section, where I will upload most consistently. Aside from the diary I do reviews, short stories and a fantasy series called the Red Stream. 

The coming soon section currently is used to show what I want to have published before notonprint is in version 1.0. For the future I want to commit to a set timetable for regular uploads of reviews, short stories and chapters for The Red Stream, just give me some time to get used to the website first:)

Audio is also something where I currently have collaborative projects in the working, let's see where this might go.

About is the section where I would like to introduce everyone involved in  www.notonprint.com. Currently this is Jolyne (Jay), my dear girlfriend, who is in charge of developing the website and me, writing text.

So here is an overview of the english writings currently on notonprint:

 

1. The Red Stream: These are the first pages of chapter one of “the Red Stream - A Deal with Death”. Chapter one features a small inn, where a couple of characters come together. Meet The Old Wanderer, Sim and a bunch of other figures that will guide you deeper through the Red Stream, as this project goes on.
2. Review - Hurry up Tomorrow: As of now The Weeknd dropped his last album under this name. Able Tesafay’s most complex dissection of his own persona and why he has to let go of it. This album really impressed me. Why? Read at in the review section.
3. Review - Eusexa: FKA Twigs also dropped an awesome LP this year, give it a listen if you like alternative electronic pop or read my review on it:)
4. Shortstory - Space Girl: Liv is just a space girl living the Space Girl live

Hey again:)

 

I took a longer break. Now that I finally got back to work we have some Updates, here we go:

First things first, if everything goes according to plan, you now have the option to switch between an english and a german version of this website. Just click the button on the top right corner and select your preferred language. 

We also have a proper homepage now.

Aside from that we did some more small fixes with hyperlinks, spelling and stuff, but nothing huge.

 

There is also some text on the page I have not talked about so far. 

“The Zone of Interest” is a movie that I highly recommend, I also think in my review are some perspectives that could add to your perception of the film:)

“Letzte Worte” and “Flug in die Nacht” are the short stories I wrote in 2023 while applying for some writing universities. While I have changed a lot since then I still like how they reflected on my life at that time.

"Spiritfarer" is an indie game one could play via Netflix abo or buy - I really liked that too.

And for my review on “Apothecary Diaries” I did something different: I mainly talked about the relationship between tone and setting, feel free to check that out as well:)

So where are we now? I had some plans and ideas, but life just got in the way. For now I plan to upload something new every Sunday and possibly finalize a longer term plan for notonprint that I surely will tell you about in the future

+++ 1 month of weekly Uploads +++

I did it:)

After last year when I was taking a very long break because of the intense launch of the website, I am now very happy to report that the first month of 2026 I managed to keep a routine for the first month. The idea to have a set day on which I just upload whatever I have so far finished really seems to work for me. I wrote not daily but still regularly. Instead of just throwing ideas away when they get too big or I fail at executing them I now finish some small projects every week. That keeps me motivated. I consider maybe taking off a week from time to time if that helps me focus on bigger projects, but probably not in February.

 

Anyways I want to share some thoughts on what I wrote so far. The Red Stream chapter one developed differently from what I had originally planned. But the idea of keeping it shorter and ending it on a cliffhanger opened better options for chapter two then what I initially planned so I am confident in that decision. Places is fun and works really well against writer's blockade. I hope there is something there for the readers. Everything else was mostly fun:)

 

Also I was informed that Google autotranslated text for some readers. I deactivated it. When I want text translated in my opinion it would be necessary for a human to translate otherwise, there is just no control over tone and other nuances.

 

That's it. Looking forward to the future of notonprint, currently I am sitting on a folder to apply for a university in creative writing again. I might as well post updates on that.

+++Application Folder Leipzig+++

In my last Update I mentioned the folder for the university of Leipzig I was working on. I just sent it away this weekend. Most of the text I wrote last month was written for this application. Amongst those were two uploads I want to address, since they broke format a little.

 

1. The Zone of Interest Review: So I already had a Review for The Zone of Interest, but I wanted to also have a review in my Folder for Leipzig and it would have to be German. Since I have a lot to say about this movie and since I have developed some new ideas, I wrote a new review in German.

It was different, but I liked doing a German review for once, there might be more to come in the future.

1. Marry Messer: Marry Messer was an idea that I had in the back of my head for longer. Since it would have to be a bigger project, I kept postponing it. But eventually I just started writing. It now is like The Red Stream, a bigger project, a serial. This time in german. This time a coming of age story. I am really excited about it.

+++About Moving+++

As I already wrote about in one of my last pieces, me and my partner just moved into a new flat.

I was pretty occupied with that, my mother's birthday and other stuff. Which was nice, both just nice and nice to see that I have the endurance for that kind of stress again. But also it was one of two things that kept me from writing more. The other reason was the lack of wifi and other accommodations in our new flat that we have not set up yet and that would ease my writing process. That being said, it is not like that I did not write recently. The last two weeks were fairly productive with my texts on “Blonde” and the one about Bari. And I am currently sitting on “Mary Messer” and “The Red Stream” chapters which happen to take more time than other projects.

So I just thought it was nice to lean back and only update my diary this week.

 

Our new flat is bigger than the old one. I'm playing with the idea to create a work space there which would help me to focus on writing more in the future.

Edit: As you can see, I uploaded texts aside from the diary. These are no new texts though, just a couple shenanigans I came up with while I was still studying in Hildesheim. I had a lot of fun just goofing around and seeing what sticks.

I have been procrastinating a new Update for some time now. Originally I wanted to post it shortly after my time at the day clinic in June and now we have August already. Since I try to do less of the philosophizing introspection here and focus rather on clear information, I try to keep my explanation short: The heat wave was a reason and so was the demanding daylife af the clinic and some more things as to why at first my daily routine and later my writing routine in specific had been suffering a little.

That being said I still kept managing to upload something on a weekly basis. It's just that “something” is not quite my standard and so I took a two week break. Here we are. As of now I am quite satisfied with the process but still hope to get back on bigger projects soon.

Other than that I left the clinic with new ideas for this Website and would like to share them with you as well. While I was there I received a rejection from the University of Leipzig which was part of the reason for me to reflect more on my future. In the end I have found many reasons to keep my focus on pushing this website forward - for example because I accepted that for now I still don’t have access to a whole lot of energy and this little project here is just too precious to me right now in order to sideline it for a “stable” occupation.

This also means that I want to concretize my plans for this website: As of now I have kept my routine of uploading text on a weekly basis for more than half a year. That’s halftime for season 01. My first goal is to develop a more clear structure for my days and get to writing daily. My hope is that this will lead to me being able to invest more time into bigger projects which I would not be able to finish within a week. 

For the future I hereby want to already commit myself to look out for possibilities to turn this project into something that also can bring a kind of financial income. Maybe I will soon find ways to promote this project, maybe it will be my goal for the second season. Either way my view on this project has shifted from “maybe it will turn into something” to “how can I turn it into something?” If you catch my drift.

+++Routine+++

Hi, everyone. In my last update I mentioned that I wanted to improve the way I structure my days. I am very happy to now announce that I actually managed to do that. What am I currently doing? I am writing daily and also I do a few other things daily that also improve my general quality of life. I did that for a month now and feel motivated to keep doing that for the future. I really think that it also showed in my output, since I managed to write longer text again.

I want now to take a short time to reflect on the pieces I wrote. I am a little proud of myself:

 

In the first week I just uploaded two “Places”  (Csd Leipzig 2026, Mein Reisebericht aus der Sächsischen Schweiz) stories that I already have written on my break, but I was also working on the second chapter of “The Red Stream”, which I was then uploading in my second week. I was really happy with that, since it took me some work to shape all the ideas I had into a proper story. For the future of this series I want to overhaul the first chapter since I now found my groove in this world.

 

In the third week I then continued my other ongoing series “Marry Messer”. I have similar feelings here as I had with the other text. Maybe it is a new rule for me, that on bigger projects it might take me two chapters to lay out all the themes, motives and directions I want to take for a novel-like project. Stay tuned for more updates.

 

The fourth week I managed to upload two stories which I was even more happy with since I also was putting a lot of effort into finishing a third story. Let me start with this third story. It is “*Spacegirl*”, a story looming over notonprint since its beginning. I now have finally found a direction that I <want to take it in and I am glad not only to be able to close this open chapter soon but also to close it in a way that I can be truly happy with.

Then there was my review of Tofu & Gemüse. This was just a whole lot of fun.

And my latest “Places” (Die kleinen Erfolge in Gohlis) text might have turned out to be one of my more emotional stories. I am really glad to have put my feelings on this new structure in my days out there. Just like the Clinic-Saga you can also read it as an addition to my diary entries.
